Sometimes though the install disc throws this error at you:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of windows.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Fear not! simply boot again off the Windows 7 DVD and instead of clicking on fix, press SHIFT+F10<br \/>\n<em>(It may be beneficial to ensure that drive with windows installed on it is the only one connected to the PC, reconnect the other drives on the next reboot)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>you now have a command prompt, type and run the following commands one by one:<\/p>\n<p><code>bootrec \/FixMbr<\/code><br \/>\n<code>bootrec \/FixBoot<\/code><br \/>\n<code>bootrec \/ScanOs<\/code><br \/>\n<code>bootrec \/RebuildBcd<\/code><\/p>\n<p>Reboot and carry on as if nothing had happened!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Your system fails to boot, either due to an update, a hard drive crash, a power off or just one of those things.
