The easiest way to edit and customize your favorite WordPress theme is to simply make a copy of it.<\/p>\n
In just 3 simple steps you can have your favorite theme modified with all your new CSS changes.<\/p>\n
1) FTP into your site and upload your chosen theme with a different named folder. (Or download your current theme, rename the folder\u00a0 then upload it again!)<\/p>\n
2) Edit the style.css of your new theme folder and change the template name (this is important for switching themes in your admin panel)<\/p>\n
3) Activate your new theme in the admin panel and then re-assign your menu’s under Appearance > Menus (If you don’t do this you may have no menu options available in your newly copied theme)<\/p>\n
Now make as many modifications as you like to the background images and CSS without worrying about damaging the original template.<\/p>\n
This is a great way to make lots of similar templates with different color options and background choices of your preferred template(s)<\/p>\n
